Go Outside School Tour
The Go Outside School Tour will travel to grade 2-7 schools nation-wide and
present educators, children & parents with programs that promote the benefits
of outdoor physical activity. Go Outside is unique as we are providing direct
resources and education for children so they can plan their own outdoor
activities and experiences. Go Outside will provide a resource for fun outdoor
physical activities in order to change children’s outlook on participation. The
Go Outside approach will continue to work through the children in an effort
to reach the entire family.
1. Go Outside will challenge children to commit to a weekly Outside Day.
Children commit to spending a minimum of 1 hour per week participating in an
outdoor activity on Outside Day. Later they will be challenged to increase the
number of Outside Days per week.
2. Go Outside will challenge the children to commit with their parents to a
weekly Family Outside Day. Children & parents commit to spending a minimum of
1 hour every week together participating in an outdoor activity on Family
Outside Day.
3. Go Outside will challenge the teachers and schools to adopt outdoor
environment-based learning programs. These programs require teaching a minimum of
one lesson per week in each subject outside.
